Mr. Gold tells us that he was born the year World War I started, that he sold his first story when Ethiopia was invaded, that he married the day World War II began, that his son was born twenty days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, that he founded ``Galaxy Magazine¹¹ the year of the Korean War, that he was divorced simultaneously with the flight of Sputnik, that he remarried to the reverberations of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, that he is without doubt ``the historical man¹¹ ... The significance of these coincident or near-coincident events? Well, Mr. Gold wishes us to advise the UN and the world that he has some other projects in mind. Would the UN and the world care to take steps - for example, to buy Mr. Gold off - and thus avert future calamities?
